- He completed his Internship and Special Graduate Traineeship from Kilpauk Medical College in between 1991 – 1993 and MD General Medicine from Madras Medical College, under Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, 1996
- He received PG Certificate and Fellowship in Diabetes Mellitus from Martin Luther University.

- He joined the Faculty of Department of General Medicine at the Sri Ramachandra Medical College Porur Chennai in 1996 as Assistant Professor. He served as Assistant Professor from 1996 – 2002 and subsequently served as Associate Professor of Medicine from 2002 o 2006 , Professor of Medicine &
Chief of Medical Unit from 2006 to 2013 - He served as the Professor & Head of the Department of General Medicine from 2013 to 2014
